Privacy policy
In short: what data denisivanov.co.uk collects, why, where it is kept and how to have it deleted.
Who is responsible for your data
Denis Ivanov, author of this site, United Kingdom. For any data question: hello@denisivanov.co.uk.
What data I receive
- The contact form: your name, email address and message. Only what you type in yourself.
- Technical data: when you open any page, the hosting server receives your IP address and browser details. This is needed for the site to work and stay secure. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in running and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f)). Server logs are kept by the host, FastComet, for a limited period under its own rules.
Along with your message, the form also sends the address of the page you wrote from.
There are no analytics or advertising trackers on this site. The site itself does not set cookies for visitors.
Why, and on what basis
I use the details from the form to read your message and reply. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): you wrote to me and expect an answer. I do not add you to any mailing list and I do not sell your data.
You do not have to give me any data, but without it I cannot reply. I make no automated decisions and do no profiling.
Third-party services
- FastComet: website hosting.
- Google (Gmail): the inbox where form messages arrive.
- Substack: a link to subscribe. Data reaches Substack only if you follow the link and sign up; Substack then handles it under its own policy.
- LinkedIn and other external sites: links only. Data reaches them only if you follow a link.
Google and Substack may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by safeguards recognised under UK GDPR: the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual terms (the IDTA).
How long I keep it
I keep correspondence for no longer than 12 months after the last email, then delete it. Sooner if you ask.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you, correct or delete your data, to restrict how I use it, or object to it. Email hello@denisivanov.co.uk and I will reply within one month.
If you think I am handling your data wrongly, you can complain to the ICO, the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk, phone 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If anything changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
